AhlulBayt News Agency - The Russian Air Force has begun a series of airstrikes over the strategic town of Khan Touman last night, targeting the extremist rebel positions that belonged to Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.
These airstrikes last night were conducted in preparation for a counter-assault at the town of Khan Touman and its surrounding hilltops by the Syrian Armed Forces.
If the Syrian Armed Forces are unable to reclaim Khan Touman, they will be in serious trouble because this town overlooks the entire area, including the Aleppo-Damascus Highway (M-5 Highway).
